States Require Your Products Be Registered or You Could Face a Face A Stop-Sale Order
Most small to medium size pet companies sell their products online and on Amazon and Chewy. Many do not realize that they must register their products in all the states they sell in to. As eCommerce sales exploded during COVID, state feed regulators began spending more time online and less time in stores. They quickly realized how many more brands and companies were selling on the Internet versus in stores, they began to identify new ways to enforce their regulations. This has culminated in a few states partnering with Amazon and Chewy to take away the seller’s “Shop Now” button if the product is unregistered. Most states are adopting this strategy within the next two years.
